Who is Alejandra Mahiques?
Alejandra Mahiques Nuñez is a journalist and chief editor of Gaceta Holandesa, the only online magazine about The Netherlands in Spanish. Together with a dozen of professionals, she publishes in-depth rapportages, articles and interviews about the Dutch society, providing readers with trustworthy information about the country they all live in. She does this through a subscription-based news platform which slowly, but firmly, is receiving the support of its readers not only in The Netherlands but in many other countries worldwide. With its slow cooked news and since its foundation in 2015, Gaceta Holandesa has become part of the new wave of online media promoting high-quality news on the internet, not so dependant on clicks or likes: what Alejandra likes to call, grey journalism.
As a professional communicator, Alejandra has two decades of experience both as a journalist and as a press officer, working for national media and for institutions in Spain and The Netherlands. She holds several diplomas in journalistic studies from universities in Madrid, Strasbourg and Leiden and speaks Spanish, English, French and Dutch. Deeply upholder of the European Union and a common european identity, she believes in the power of communication to bring communities together and promote social diversity.
