The voices from Survivors, Victim, families’ members and Witness of South Sudan Conflict
The Junub Aid Media and the Office of the Nile Star Global – NS-Global Organization, published this Monthly awareness paper jointly as Call to ending conflict related violence in South Sudan and holding perpetrators of violence accountable.
It contains the findings of investigations conducted by Fellow of Media & Transitional Justices Academy into human rights violations and abuses and violations of international humanitarian law during fighting between SPLM-AIO and South Sudan’s joint Government Forces and affiliated armed militias/groups – comprising community-based militias.
War Crime committed by various arms, a explanation alarm highlighted by many families was the loss of their loved ones bodies, force full disappearance, Properties Destruction, Raping, Arbitrary arrest: in cases of attacks on villages, families were often forced to flee rapidly and were unable to recover the body or unaware where the body had been buried. In other instances, individuals were presumed to be dead and buried in mass graves in Juba, Bentiu Town, Rubkona, Mayom, Koch, Guit, Leer, Mayiendit, Torit, Wau and Renk.
