Channel 4 controller Ian Katz and ITV News political editor Robert Peston are to go head-to-head in what promises to be an unmissable finale to the Edinburgh TV Festival.
This time last year the industry was buzzing with rumours and speculation around who would be the new head of Channel 4. When the dust settled, Katz was unveiled as the broadcaster’s surprise new director of programmes.
So who is Ian Katz? ITV’s political editor, host of the eponymous Peston on Sunday and former BBC business editor, is going to find out.
As well as discovering more about the man, we’ll find out about the vision…what he’s commissioned, exclusive clips of upcoming shows, and crucially what he’s still looking for.
On top of that, he’ll answer questions on the headline issues, from the new faces at C4, to Nations and Regions and BAME commitments, from the rebirth of 11pm to embracing digital platforms. He’ll be joined by members of his commissioning team and talk in more detail about what to pitch and how to pitch it.
A must-see session for anyone hoping to bag a commission from Channel 4.
Session producer: Ian Lamarra, creative director
