The lockdown has made domestic violence even worse, as people are trapped with their abusers.

I'm not a victim, I'm a survivor says Deborah Alessi, founder of Face Forward International, an organization that helps survivors of domestic abuse, acid attacks and sex trafficking.

October is domestic abuse awareness month and I would like to shed a light in this pandemic that affects over 12 million people around the world every year.

Moving from victim to survivor empowers people, but that requires a lot of inner work and strength. That's why supporting a domestic abuse foundation is important, so people can get their lives back and rise above domestic violence.
