Hoy presento una especie muy común, que se ve todos los años en Briones - La Rioja, sobre todo en los tocones de coníferas. Suele salir en otoño, pero este año la he visto en Junio.
También os comparto un poco de naturaleza del mismo hábitat que el hongo, las mariposas Pyronia bathseba y la Melanargia galathea y unas plantas con extendidas por esta zona la Staehelina dubia

Características:
-Sombrero: En forma de concha de gran tamaño, puede llegar a los 20 cm de diámetro. Superficie lisa de color marrón con distintas tonalidades, ligeramente afelpada o aterciopelada y con los bordes enrollados
-Láminas: Decurrentes, y apretadas, de color ocre que se van cambiando a marrón en algunas de las partes, como se ve en el vídeo (ejemplares envejecidos)
- Pie: Muy excéntrico, lateral, robusto, corto con medidas que van de 3 a 6 cm de longitud y de 2 a 4 de diámetro, de color marrón oscuro, su superficie es muy afelpada o aterciopelada.
Carne: Esponjosa y compacta, con distintos colores, como se ve en el vídeo, desde blanquecinos a amarillos, Olor inapreciable y sabor amargo
-Comestibilidad: Su sabor amargo y su consistencia le impiden utilizarlo en la cocina. Y hay autores que tienen sospechas de toxicidad.
-Hábitat: Principalmente en tocones de coníferas , también ocasionalmente en la base de pinos.
- Época: Principalmente en otoño
-Lugar: Briones – La Rioja

Today I present a very common species, which is seen every year in Briones - La Rioja, especially in coniferous stumps. It grows in Autumn, but this year I have seen it in June.
I also share with you a bit of nature from the same habitat as the fungus, the Pyronia bathseba and Melanargia galathea butterflies and some plants with the Staehelina dubia scattered in this area.

Characteristics:
-Cap: In the shape of a large shell, it can reach 20 cm in diameter. Smooth surface of brown color with different shades, slightly plush or velvety and with rolled edges
-Gills: Decurrent and tight, ocher in color that changes to brown in some parts, as seen in the video (aged copies)
- Stem: Very eccentric, lateral, robust, short with measurements ranging from 3 to 6 cm long and 2 to 4 in diameter, dark brown in color, its surface is very plush or velvety.
Flesh : Fluffy and compact, with different colors, as seen in the video, from whitish to yellow, Priceless smell and bitter taste
-Editability: Its bitter taste and consistency prevent you from using it in the kitchen. And there are authors who have suspicions of toxicity.
-Habitat: Mainly in coniferous stumps, also occasionally at the base of pines.
- Season: mainly in autumn
