The multi-racial soul funk band, Brother to Brother, was formed by Michael Burton (see Discogs.com) (discogs.com/artist/Michael+Burton) in the early 70s and was the most popular soul funk band to come out of St. Louis, Missouri in that decade. Founder Michael Burton (see Discogs.com) gathered some studio musicians: Frankie Prescott, Billy Jones and Yogi Horton and the band was born. B2B most popular hit, "In the Bottle", was a remake of Gil Scott Heron's super hit, and was released in 1974 on the late Sylvia Robinson's Turbo Records. When released, the song gained regular rotation on the popular dance show, Soul Train. The song reached #9 on the R&B charts. Sylvia Robinson also known for the sexy 70s soul song, "Pillow Talk" (which Michael Burton co-wrote) and for founding Sugarhill Records, died in 2011.
