Clashes erupted between demonstrators and police, Friday, April 16, in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki.
About 7,000 people marched in protest over a new law allowing the policing of university campuses.
A group of about 100 protesters began throwing gasoline bombs and other objects at riot police, who responded with tear gas and stun grenades.
Police access to universities had been restricted for decades and has been a politically contentious issue.
The current center-right Greek government argues that the ban on police had been exploited by some using campuses as safe havens for criminal activity. (AP)
