Training for a group of 30 volunteers and their mentors from 9 countries. The traditional event organized twice a year by Centre for Youth Cooperation and Mobility (Centrum Współpracy Młodzieży) for the European Solidarity Corps community in Gdynia.
We consider this event as a useful tool for the integration of European Solidarity Corps volunteers with their mentors and coordinators, meeting with the specific culture of the Pomeranian region and lovely touristic places in Kaszubia.
It's not only the chance to be together in the informal atmosphere, but it's also time when we can learn from each other and plan our common future for the next half of the year.
While creating the program of training we are focused on the needs of our European Solidarity Corps volunteers, giving them a safe space to create workshops by themselves. For some volunteers, it's only the start of their adventures in Gdynia and we concentrate their attention on the personal learning process. The volunteers who are attending training for the second time have an additional possibility to evaluate their projects focusing on changes they were facing during their time in Gdynia.
During this meeting we talked about our cultures, about our motivation to volunteer in Poland and how to be more eco-friendly.
The project is financed by the European Solidarity Corps.
Volunteering projects under the European Solidarity Corps are volunteering opportunities that enable young Europeans to gain new skills, competences and experiences as well as personal, social, civic and professional development.
The implementation of the projects responds to the needs of local communities, and at the same time increases the chances of volunteers on the labor market.
Volunteering projects are divided into:
- full-time individual volunteering, as part of the daily work of the host organization, in the country or abroad, from 2 to 12 months (in some cases, people with fewer opportunities can carry out projects lasting from 2 weeks to 2 months);
- group volunteering carried out by groups of 10 to 40 volunteers, coming from at least two different countries, in the country or abroad, from 2 weeks to 2 months.
Program support for participants includes travel costs, pocket money, subsistence costs (accommodation and meals), language support, insurance and exceptional costs (e.g. visa costs).
