This video outlines the steps I took in troubleshooting and resolving intermittent AM/FM problems with my stock head unit. AM/FM had no sound/static but would tune to stations. SAT/CD/AUX worked fine.
Resolution: Repaired bad solder joint on the NXP TEF7000HN Signal Processor.
Under magnification, I could not find any visible compromised solder joints. I soldered each pin again to ensure the problem was resolved.
This unit is installed in a 2012 Jeep Liberty.
