Punk rock music has taken many forms over the years. One of its most popular sub-genres is horror punk, which was made popular by the pioneering band The Misfits.

The band from Lodi, New Jersey went through various incarnations in the '80s and '90s but their first two LPs, Walk Among Us and Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood, are considered cornerstone albums of the hardcore and horror punk genres.

They may not be as popular as classic punk bands like The Ramones, The Clash, or The Sex Pistols, but The Misfits have left an important mark on the development and sound of the punk rock genre.
