The Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE limited edition dive watch is a 2015 series of 7,007 pieces for James Bond fans, watch collectors, and vintage watch enthusiasts. With a special dial, bezel, clasp, and caseback, this is a unique take on the Omega Seamaster 300 model line. While other James Bond Seamaster limited edition models have been created since Pierce Brosnan first led Mi6 away from Rolex, the 007-inspired Seamaster 300 SPECTRE is the first such edition to take the form of a celebrated vintage watch from Omega’s history.

At 41mm in stainless steel, the Semaster 300 SPECTRE shares its case size with the standard watch. But the differences begin to express themselves on the bracelet clasp, which includes the “007” signature, and the trend continues on the individually numbered custom caseback. Omega employs a bi-directional bezel with 0-11 calibration rather than the standard 300’s 60-minute scale. Because this bezel turns in both directions, it is true to the vintage Omega Seamaster CK2913, but it does not meet the ISO definition of a modern diving watch. Nevertheless, the bezel insert remains ceramic as in the standard model.

On the dial, Omega replaces the standard Seamaster 300’s Arabic numeral “12” with the Omega logo and Seamaster name. A “lollipop” seconds hand diverges from the mass-produced 300. Otherwise, the watch’s dial, which includes a pronounced “fauxtina” tint, remains as charismatic as the standard Omega diver. All of this is protected by a case that affords 300 meters of water resistance.

The Seamaster 300 SPECTRE employs the same automatic co-axial caliber as the standard watch. Its automatic winding system energizes two mainspring barrels to provide 60 hours of power reserve. Hacking seconds and a “hour jumper” permit precise setting of time. The co-axial escapement here appears in its latest tri-level form, and Geroge Daniels’ most famous invention remains impressive even 22 years after its Omega debut. The full balance bridge and free-sprung balance provide bracing against shocks, and a silicon hairspring allows the watch to resist magnetism. The caliber 8400 is a COSC certified Swiss chronometer that has met exacting standards of consistency and precision.
