(30 Jun 2007) HEADLINE: U.S. beefs up airport security
CAPTION: U.S. airports and mass transit systems will tighten security in response to apparent terrorist incidents in Britain. (June 30)

U-S officials are tightening security at airports around the country following the attack at the airport in Glasgow, Scotland.
Saturday suspected terrorists crashed their vehicle into the airport there and authorities say they believe the attack is linked to two car bombs found in London on Friday.
However, the White House says there's no indication now of any specific or credible threat against the U-S and it won't raise the terror level.
Still, some of those travelling at the nation's busiest airports say they are worried.
SOT Jake Lawrence
"it's definitely a little troubling and I hope it doesn't affect me."
Others, though, who were flying to the U-K say the attack won't change their plans.
SOT Peter Brett
"I think I'm used to the fact that terrorist attacks can happen anywhere in the world and anytime. I guess I'm getting so used to it now that it doesn't bother me very much."
SOT Peter Dyer
You know as a brit who travels a lot abroad disappointed, a little bit angry, upset sounds pretty good that not too many people hurt. Probably a lot of inconvenience but you know it's an indication of where we are. It's regrettable, is it going to go away no. Is it going to stop us from what we are doing, no. And it wont change what I do either.
White House Press Secretary Tony Snow says they are increasing security at some but not all airports.
He says those going to those airports can expect to see more security outside the facilities and expect to wait longer once they get inside.
