Since the track is mostly full throttle, really short and with only 2 real corners, I found this to be one of the harder world records to beat. It took a long time, but after tonnes of setup combinations I got the WR. In the end I decided to put more downforce on the car instead of using 2-1 wings, and create oversteer and straight line speed with suspension instead of wings. The 8-1 wings made the car extremely pointy and able to take many corners full throttle with helped with consistently being close to the WR. The car was instead much slower in a straight line, so carrying the maximum amount of speed out of the corners were paramount to keep the momentum on the straights. So instead of using low wings and being fast on the straights, I used downforce and grip to carry more momentum through the corners and to keep up a higher average speed. Just like real life the setup was a balancing act between grip and straight line speed. In the end I think you could go for either high and low downforce. It simply comes down to personal preference and driving style.
The gears were also a vital part of the setup where I could tune them to my driving. Usually I down-shifted to 6th gear through the fast corners in the second sector. It was very important to change the gears along side any other changes so you had the maximum amount of drive through the fast parts. I am still uncertain if it is faster to downshift to 6th gear or keep it in 7th in the second sector.
