Let's say you accidentally installed Windows 10 with a MBR partition on a system with UEFI firmware, or let's say you migrated/imaged a Windows 10 installation over to a machine with a UEFI setup. Since Windows 10 1703, you can use the MBR2GPT utility to convert an MBR installation of Windows 10 over to a GPT installation. This way, Windows 10 and the system UEFI integrate better together. That allows the system logo to show up on the Windows boot animation, and may also increase boot performance.
