This was just the latest in series of politically motivated, violent attacks in the U.S. over recent years. Former Homeland Security official Juliette Kayyem joined Jim Braude to discuss how the political climate has attributed to these violent acts and what we can expect as another election day nears.
Affirmative action at risk: Supreme Court hears two cases arguing race should not be an admissions factor
The Supreme Court heard arguments in two cases seeking to end race and ethnicity considerations in college admissions. The conservative group Students for Fair Admissions has taken aim at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina for including race as a factor in their admissions process. Natasha Warikoo, sociology professor at Tufts University and Richard Kahlenberg, author of ‘The Remedy: Class, Race and Affirmative Action’, who testified at an earlier hearing and was in the Supreme Court for today’s arguments, joined Jim to discuss.
