Climate activists from across the UK and Europe gathered on Glasgow Green before beginning a march through the city centre on Saturday, a day ahead of the start of the COP26 climate summit in the city.

Attendees represented religious organizations and activist groups and were joined by an inflatable “Snake of Capitalism,” carried by artists and activists.

Activist Zoe Walker lead the "Snake" and said the activism she had seen around the conference gave her hope.

Activists from all over the world are expected to hold a day of action on Nov. 6, at the midpoint of the summit.

Leaders of the 20 richest countries will acknowledge the existential threat of climate change and will take urgent steps to limit global warming, a draft communiqué seen ahead of the COP26 summit shows.
