Brahmar Mukherje, PhD., Chair of Biostatistics at Michigan School of Public Health, and Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, gives her keynote presentation at the Bioconductor Conference 2022. Dr. Mukherje presents Using Electronic Health Records and Phenome-wide Association Studies for COVID-19 Research.
Dr. Mukherje began the presentation by sharing about her work at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and layed out the agenda for the presentation. Dr. Mukherje then continued with Act One: Infrastructure and Resources of the presentation. In this section, she covered her experience being part of data making. She shared more about her work and her success story with the Michigan Cancer and Research on the Environment Study. Afterward, Dr. Mukherje began Act two which covered research using Electronic Health Record (EHR) data and included the pros and cons of the study. She then gave an overview of developing a statistical model for this study. Dr. Mukherje went on to Act three and gave a walkthrough covering her experience with COVID-19 research and EHR, along with sharing some ongoing COVID-19 projects. The presentation then concluded with a questions and answers session from the audience.
