Creativity is something we do every day. We do it out of necessity as we navigate a world where the problems we face don’t match the resources we have available. Scott Thorp shows us how our daily practice of changing to the function of objects can lead to life changing inventions. Scott Thorp is an artist, writer and educator specializing in creativity. He is Chair of the Department of Art and Design, and Associate Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research at Augusta University. Additionally, he writes for ArtPulse Magazine, an international magazine covering the state of contemporary art. As problems present themselves today, they are less defined than in times past. Solving these so-called “wicked” problems make solutions challenging because baseline questions are difficult to form. Thorp’s approach to problem solving is based in the development of skills related to creativity and collaboration. Using these skills, opportunities for innovation are limitless. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
