Jiayun “Princess” Li, a 13-year-old oboist, is studying at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. When Jiayun was studying in Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Language School, she was an oboist in the school symphony orchestra. Jiayun was taught by Cui Xiaozheng, the principal oboe of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Beginning in 2015, she started to study oboe by following Professor Jin Jingchun, who is one of the top ten wind musicians in China. She won the fifth prize of “young category” woodwinds in the third Hong Kong International Music Festival in 2016. The following year, she won first prize in the same category in the fourth Hong Kong International Music Festival. Also in 2017, Jiayun enrolled in the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School as the first ranked in the Conservatory’s professional exam. Jiayun also performed in Beijing Oboe Salon Concerts twice as soloist.
Australian-born composer Arthur Benjamin arranged the oboe concerto in 1942 from four keyboard works by composer Domenico Cimarosa (1749 - 1801)
