Another foundation spin in pole dancing, the chair spin can be used as a transition to link dance moves and spins together. I love using this spin in flowy combinations and sequences.
Points to remember - you don't need to travel this all the way to the floor, simply one rotation around the pole is appropriate. In fact, I hold this spin briefly on purpose to make sure I don't overuse my shoulder muscles.
Engage your lats as well, this will support your body in the spin. Contract your abdominals.
Remember to point your toes, to make the move "pretty" - no duck feet!
Float and concentrate on landing like a feather! Soft landing!
* Step on inside foot, extend outside leg behind and then in front.
* Outside hand places across chest height - either baseball grip or fingertip up grip.
* Push off the inside foot, meeting legs together in a sitting position.
* Remember, no jumping!
