Spinning pole combo: Inside leg hang thread thru to cupid, drop down to a cup grip Marion amber. Marion amber swivel down into a jade split variation and into a cradle spin like meathook.
Had such a great time playing/training yesterday. Had a rare couple hours of unscheduled time between bookings at the studio and decided to just play, train, do whatever on whatever apparatus I felt like. Despite being physically exhausted from a busy schedule the last few days I had a fantastic time training and playing. Had an amazing free dance warm up...might not have looked amazing on the outside but felt so good to just move. Then played around with a few combos with a couple of transitions that came to mind. The power of play on our mental and physical health I think is sorely under valued in our society. When I find myself feeling overwhelmed or stressing over nuances of life that I can't control anyway... As much as it is so hard to put down the things we carry on our shoulders it has such a mind altering effect on our mental, emotional and physical well being. So often I fight it, like a toddler resisting taking a much needed nap. When I finally surrender and leave my thoughts on the sidelines and step onto the playground (whatever that playground might be) I always find that the load that was weighing me down feels so much lighter when I pick it up again after my hiatus of play time.
So I encourage you to take time to play this week, to dance, to be weird, to move or create with the curiosity and open mindedness of a child. Do it for you, not for the onlookers and the lookie loos. What is your "playtime"? Pole, aerial, handstands, acro, painting, playing a musical instrument, drawing....what brings you back to that child like bliss of contentment with life.
