The Eastern Cape town of Makhanda is still being shut down by protesting taxi drivers and residents.
They took to the streets yesterday and protesters first blokcaded the N2 that runs past the town and then took their protest to the municipality chambers.
The police eventually dispersed the crowd with stun grenades.
A taxi driver was also arrested for reckless and negligent driving.
The protesters are demanding service delivery and better roads.
The Makana municipality has been dysfunctional for years and residents successfully went to court in January 2020, asking for the council to be dissolved.
The council has been granted leave to appeal the high court decision by SCA. SABC News reporter Lubabalo Dada is there for us.
