Frank Vignola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Joe Craven & Friends meet Dr. Dum d'Dum -- Sweet Georgia Brown.
Like my last effort -- Swing 42 with Tommy Emmanuel & Friends at [ Ссылка ] -- this song has a story.
It started out as a brilliant live performance by a star-studded cast that was flawed as a listening experience because the first part of Tommy Emmanuel's intro solo was missing. Apparently, the cameraman didn't get the camera turned on in time. And the original performance lacked the crucial bass.
I attempted to rectify this and create a complete song from this bravura performance by cutting Tommy Emmanuel's solo entirely (even though it hurt like cutting my own flesh). Instead, this version begins with the flaming second solo by violinist Joe Craven.
The solos as they follow then are Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, the whole ensemble, and out. Frank Vignola's trusty long time sideman, Vinny Raniolo, also played a crucial rhythm guitar role in this performance. And I have added electric bass to this version.
Since I recorded this cover, Frank Vignola took down the original live performance video of Sweet Georgia Brown by Frank Vignola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Joe Craven, Tommy Emmanuel and Vinny Raniolo. Nonetheless, I hope you'll check out Frank Vignola's entire YouTube channel at [ Ссылка ]. There's a wealth of great jazz there!
