Taking up a good chunk of the ever-shrinking workshop space now is a Roubo-style woodworking workbench. The design was largely inspired by Mr. Chickadee's timber frame design adaptation. Having a workbench of this sort is necessary when working with Western-style woodworking hand tools in order to provide a variety of wood holding options when bearing down with hand planes and cutting with chisels. It is important to be able to hold the piece of wood without obstructing the top surface and interfering with the tools. The holdfasts and planing stop were hand forged as supplements to the built-in end vise and leg vise.
