STORYLINE:
Police used tear gas and water cannon against protesters in Turkish capital Ankara late on Friday.
Demonstrators were gathered in central Ankara to protest against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Ergodan and his ruling AK party.
Three weeks of anti government rallies have swept across Turkey.
Human rights groups say more than 3,000 people have been detained, then released, since anti-government demonstrations began on May 31.
Dozens remain in custody and at least six people have been formally arrested and face charges.
Twenty-six people were detained by police in Turkey on Friday on suspicion of being linked to the anti-government protests and taken to a courthouse in Ankara.
Earlier on Friday police raided the homes of several suspected protest organisers in the city.
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in front of the courthouse to show support for the suspects as they arrived for a hearing.
Protests are continuing in Istanbul and Ankara, mostly peacefully and with no violence.
Four people died, including a policeman, during violent clashes between demonstrators and police in Istanbul and Ankara last week.
