New York Governor Andrew Cuomo provided an update to the ongoing COVID-19 response to the pandemic that has ravaged the state on Monday.
Cuomo reported 478 new COVID-19 related deaths in the state, which he said was still “horrifically high” despite the slight drop in numbers from previous days.
He also said the state would be launching a new partnership to expand healthcare services in public housing, including COVID-19 testing. Cuomo added that they would be delivering 500,000 masks and 10,000 gallons of hand sanitizer to the communities during the pandemic.
New York has been among the worst-hit states in the U.S. by the novel coronavirus pandemic, with over 240,000 cases and more than 10,000 deaths as of April 20
