Plantar equivalence :
In case of widespread and severe upper motor neuron lesion, the reflexogenic zone over the lower Limbs may be greatly widened and and extensor plantar response maybe evoked by different techniques. This is the basis of multiple signs or Plantar Equivalence
Gonda sign : extensor response is elicited after forceful stretching a snapping of distal phalanx of either of the 2nd or 4th toe.
In this video -
On the first try at snapping the 4th toe, sign isn't elicited
After shifting the feet upwards to make ample space to do the test properly,
The fourth toe is snapped again. This time dorsi flexion of the great toe is clearly visible.
