Shows how to calculate the orbital velocity of an object. The equation for orbital velocity is derived from Newton's second law and Newton's Law of universal gravitation. The orbital velocity of the satellite is only dependent upon the radius of its orbit and the mass of the central object. The mass of the satellite has no effect on the orbital velocity.
