CORRECTION: Story Spoilers run from ~19:10-24:01, see Pinned Comment!
L.A. Noire is a game I've wanted to look at for a good while now, and the Remastered edition's launch last year made for a perfect chance to dive back in. Often touted even today for its incredible facial animations, how does the rest of the game hold up seven years later? It's time to dig into this case and find out, but I'm not going it alone, as every cop needs a partner! Join me and my good buddy minimme in our review of L.A. Noire, both the Remastered release on PS4 and the original version on PS3!

For those that read the Pinned Comment, here's the chunk of script that was lost due to the rendering bug:
"The game’s written out well enough that I caught onto a tease very early about who the Black Dahlia murderer is, which led to a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when I realized I was right all those hours later. And yes, you heard me, this game tackles the Black Dahlia case. While we’re on that note, it’s time for a spoiler warning: Skip to this point in the video if you don’t want sensitive plot information ruined for you.
When Cole finally takes down the Black Dahlia killer after several false leads and incorrect convictions, the captain reveals that all of this work must be kept secret. The killer, it turns out, is the half-brother of somebody very high up in U.S. Politics, and revealing this to the world could be a very dangerous move. I appreciated this touch, as it helped justify the Dahlia’s presence in the game without tying the case up in a neat, unrealistic bow. Cole is immediately promoted to vice, where he begins working with crooked cop Roy Earle. While working vice, Phelps begins uncovering a massive drug ring involving stolen morphine and guns from the US Army Surplus. This is where Doctor Fontaine comes back into play, as via those newspaper scenes we find out that one of Cole’s old squadmates had stolen the morphine to help make his fellow veterans some extra money. Fontaine bought the remaining morphine to use on patients, using the leftover money to build properties for returning veterans. However, Fontaine had much sinister plans, which we’ll get into in a bit."
