In a race famous for shocks, Arabian Queen came up with one of the biggest of them all as she inflicted a first defeat on Derby hero Golden Horn to lift the 2015 Juddmonte International Stakes at 50-1.
Back in 1972, Roberto marked the first running of the 10-furlong Group 1 by beating 1-3 favourite Brigadier Gerard - the only time in his 18-race career that the great horse came off second best.
And this renewal produced a turn-up of similar proportions as 4-9 hotpot Golden Horn succumbed by a neck to Arabian Queen, third in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on her latest outing, by a neck after a tooth-and-nail fight.
The victory catapulted David Elsworth back in the big time, 25 years after he had won the race with another filly, In The Groove and jockey Silvestre de Sousa went on to claim the first of three UK jockeys' championship titles later that year.
