On May 29, the governments of Canada and Québec announced support for our new Ultium Cathode Active Material (CAM) processing facility in Bécancour, Québec. This project was first announced in March 2022 as a C$600 million joint venture with POSCO Future M.

Construction of the facility is well underway, and production is scheduled to begin in 2025, creating 200 direct full-time jobs.

The material processed in Bécancour will support production of electric vehicles across all our brands in North America.

We are proud to bring GM manufacturing back to Québec, and to expand the role Canada plays in GM’s all-electric future.
