This is my minimalist Christmas light. I like the flash or blink rate of this design as most of the blinking light videos I saw had too high a blink rate. Using a generic circuit for blinking lights, I tested the circuit on a solderless breadboard and then transferred the components to a perforated board. The circuit is generic but I changed the components to 90 ohms resistor for R1 and R4. The two middle resistors, R2 and 3, are 4.7k. The capacitors are 470uf. I used 2 NPN BC547 transistors to do the switching. The alternate blinking lights can be powered by a source of 3 to 5 volts, depending on the current limiting resistors used. I found out the term for this circuit is "Astable multivibrator."
