Feeling soreness, pain, or tension in your spine when you finish your yoga practice could be an indication of spine compression and misalignment. While there are many approaches to alignment, this approach focuses on maintaining length and the natural curves of the spine to help alleviate tension, tightness, and pain in your yoga practice.
In this program, Reace will guide you through a breakdown of spinal anatomy and general alignment in a thorough, informative, and accessible way. No prior knowledge of anatomy is needed! The knowledge you’ll gain in these classes will enlighten your approach to how you practice and how your spine feels after you practice. REFINE THE LUMBAR SPINE
Have you ever felt uncomfortable in the most simple and common yoga poses like Downward Dog and Forward Fold? In this class, we‘ll find the natural curves of the spine and refine our movements in each of the most common poses, with a focus on the lumbar spine.
SPINAL ALIGNMENT IN STANDING POSES
In this class, we’ll explore the optimal curvature of the spine and bring more core control in standing positions like Chair Pose, Triangle Pose, High Lunge, and Low Lunge. Take your time to soak in all the information and practice when you are ready. And remember: an optimal curvature of the spine means a healthier body.
