00:00 The Smetana Embankment (Smetanovo nábřeží) in the Old Town of Prague runs along the right bank of the Vltava from the Legion Bridge to Charles Bridge. It is named after the world-famous Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, who had a music school here in the Lažanský Palace from 1868–to 1869. The Smetana Embankment was built between 1841-and 1845; it was initially called Old Town Embankment, later, in 1894, it was renamed Františe Embankment, and from 1919 it was called Masaryk Embankment. During World War II, it held two names; between 1940-and 1942, it was the Vltava Embankment, and then from 1942-to 1945, Reinhard Heydrich Ufer. It had the name of the first president of Czechoslovakia, T.G. Masaryk, again after the war, and later it got its current name – Smetana Embankment. Named after Bedřich Smetana, a prolific and distinguished Czech composer, the embankment is an ideal area for strolls, relaxing, and sunbathing and boasts a magnificent view of Prague Castle, especially in the morning or evening, when the sun is low. At night this area becomes alive with clubbing as the endless bars and clubs open up to locals and tourists. You won't regret going out and spending the night dancing in one of the famous clubs.

19:30 Na příkopě ("On the moat"), informally also Na Příkopě, Na Příkopech or Příkopy, is a street in the center of Prague, Czech Republic, connecting Wenceslas Square with the Republic Square. It separates the Old Town from the New Town. It is a place of representative buildings, including the headquarters of the Czech National Bank, old palaces, and luxurious shops. Na Příkopě street leads to the site of a former 10-meter-wide and 8-meter-deep moat from 1234, which led along the medieval walls of the Old Town. Water flowed directly from the Vltava river, and when the moat was filled, the Old Town formed a closed island. The moat was covered in 1760. After coating, chestnut trees were planted here, and the street was named Ve starých alejích (In old alleys). From 1845-to 70, the street was named Kolowratská třída, and since 1871 bears the name Na Příkopě. Because it was one of the few vast streets in Prague, it soon became a traffic artery. Since 1875, the first line of the Prague horse-drawn tram has been led here, electrified since 1899.

26:45 Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky) is situated on the site of the former moat between the Old and New Towns. The ample open space near the medieval city center inspired the construction of several significant buildings at the turn of the 20th century, such as the Municipal House (Obecní dům) near the Powder Tower (Prašná brána), the Hibernia House (Dům U Hybernů) and the Jiří z Poděbrad Barracks. A large part of the square is now a pedestrian zone connecting the two large shopping centers, Palladium and Kotva.
