Using a HDMI or VGA cable see how to connect Laptop to TV with HDMI cable & how to connect Laptop to TV using VGA. This video shows how to connect laptop to TV Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 without a HDMI cable (VGA Cable) for older TV sets or how to connect laptop to TV HDMI cables for newer smart TV. On older TV sets you might not have a HDMI port or you might not have a HDMI cable, only a VGA cable that connect laptop to TV or monitor.
Digital high definition HDMI 1080p & 720p or Analog VGA supports 640x480 pixels. Watch me connect a new Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5120 Laptop and a old Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop up to my 37" Vizio Wide Screen LCD TV .
The new Toshiba is running Windows 8/8.1 and the old Acer is running Windows 7. Something else I want to point out is that any computer to TV HDMI can be connected using a good brand HDMI cable if the computer desktop or laptop and the TV has a HDMI port available.
Using a HDMI cable makes it very easy to have both video and sound/audio going from your laptop to your TV by using just a single HDMI cable. However, if you have a older laptop that does not have a HDMI port but only a VGA port you will need two cables. A VGA and an Audio cable going from your laptop computer to you TV. Both are easy to do and you don't need to pay a geek lots of money to do it for you either. It's easy, fun and and only takes less than 15 minutes to do.
