I tried Vietnamese egg coffee for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City at Little Hanoi Egg Coffee. This is supposed to be the "OG" style of egg coffee that was originally invented in Hanoi in 1946 by Nguyen Giang who is said to be the godfather of egg coffee in Vietnam.
The drink is made by beating egg yolks with sugar and coffee, then extracting the coffee into the half of the cup, followed by a similar amount of "egg cream" — egg yolks which are heated and beaten, or whisked.
