In this video, Dr. Berg shows the result of his Coronary Artery Calcium Test. Coronary artery is the main artery that supplies blood flow to the heart muscle, this is the artery that becomes obstructed and starves off oxygen and blood flow to the heart muscles and it cramps when you have heart attack that could cause death. Heart attack is when the artery is not free-flowing and there is something obstructing it, plaquing or clot (there can be cholesterol, calcium, and a protein called fibrin, etc.). He also talks about the root cause of this inflammation that could cause a heart attack, which is the high insulin.
Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Score is the direct measurement of the amount of damage in the coronary artery. It gives you insights into the person's past lifestyle. A high score can occur with normal cholesterol. This coronary artery calcium test is the best test to measure mortality rates not just from heart attacks, from all mortality and so its way better than cholesterol
Scores:
• 1000 – This means the risk of getting a heart attack is 10x.
• 0 – Extremely low
• 1 to 80 – Concern
• 81 to 400 – Serious Situation and start changing your lifestyle
• more than 400 - Very Serious
Also: It can predict the risk from ALL deaths (Heart Attack or Cardiovascular Health, Lung Disease, Kidney Disease)
