Day 1 was a treat in itself! 17.5 miles and 3000 ft of vert of some of the most beautiful landscapes around every corner. We did have a little bit of a cloudy day, so we didn't get to see the Winds in their full wonder. It was until we got to camp that we got a glimpse of this amazing place!

Day 2 was the summit day, a good old 3-4am Alpine start time and instant coffee is enough to get you going in the morning! We started by going over Bonny pass in a complete white out, hoping that our weather watching would be rewarded later in the morning. As soon as we got over Bonny, we descended onto our first glacier and slowly started to witness our weather window open up that we had been hoping for! Climbing up Gannett had all the fun you could ask for, scrambling, glacier travel, booting up, and even ice screw anchors! We passed a few guided groups on our way up, and hit the summit near 10am and were rewarded with an amazing view of the whole wind range and everything around! Viewing the route we had taken to reach that point was humbling, as we knew we had to regain a lot of vert to get back to our camp. Ended up crossing the Bergschrund around noon and beat the weather down Gannett, however that didn't stop us from getting pounded by a hailing thunderstorm down Bonny pass to our campsite. The day ended with us being completely soaked, 12 miles, and 5,500 ft of vert, but we all couldn't have been happier with the day!

Day 3 was a rough start, after getting dumped on by 3+ inches of snow. Having to put cold, wet clothes on and packing up the tent and gear was a challenge in itself, but once we got moving our moral went up a lot! Once again, 17.5 miles back to the truck camper was amazing, getting to see the whole area snow covered was a treat in itself! This is a place that has so much beauty and adventure, that it will definitely be a place we all return to!
