English: Our climbing tour begins at the parking place at Lake Hintersee in Ramsau, first we take the gravel road up to the Schärtenalm (an Alm is like an inn in the mountains, were they keep the cows in the summer too). We need 2 hours for that part of the hike. Some hundret meters beyond the Schärtenalm we leave the gravel road and follow the sign on the left side and hike on a trail to the Blaueishütte. For this part we need another hour. We can take a break there or hike further on the trail over boulders to the Blue Ice glacier. During our hike the mountain rescue service flew up to the summit of Mount Hochkalter to rescue climbers. Because of the climate change the „Blaueisgletscher“ (Blue Ice glacier) is kind of disappearing. The hike itself as the glacier and the spirit of this plateau are a very special experience to enjoy.
