In this GameSmith tutorial we add detail to statues for your tabletop game. Creating scatter terrain statues from toys and miniatures was covered in episode S01E007, but this DIY terrain video demonstrates how hobbyists can add details and realism to their statue scatter terrain. The GameSmith will show an easy method of creating a patina layer on the statues that will create the appearance of an aging bronze statue. Patina is that thin green layer that appears on copper or bronze objects that results from the metal objects aging and being exposed to the elements. This tutorial is aimed at those with little painting or tabletop crafting experience.
Detailed or not, statues are a great scatter terrain pieces for your tabletop game. Cheap toys can be turned into life-like art pieces for your favorite roleplaying game such as Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder, or any tabletop wargame. The status can be use as cover, distractions, draw player’s attention, or act as decoration for a dungeon or town. Enjoy!
