This Core Concept video focuses on Immanuel Kant's Prolegomena To Any Future Metaphysics and examines his discussion in the Preamble on the peculiarities of all metaphysical knowledge, bearing upon the nature of properly metaphysical judgements, cognitions, or propositions, namely that they are all synthetic a priori. This is what allows there to be any genuine advance in knowledge through metaphysics
