Today we are trying to discuss is Asthma a Chronic Disease because the symptoms last for a long time however like other chronic diseases which like diabetes hypertension you can actually manage these symptoms avoiding the trigger for asthma for example if somebody is allergic to flowers avoiding the flowers might be one way to control asthma. what happens is that the air passages become narrow and they also get swollen inside and that happens because of inflammation if you can control the inflammation you will allow more space for the air to go inside and out of the air tubes with time what happens is that these air tubes can become scarred just as you get an injury in the hand and you get a scar likewise the air tubes become scarred if they become scarred then you end up with a condition of obstructive airway disease which may become chronic in that situation patients asked end up with overtime with COPD now the problem with these two conditions is that the treatments are similar but if you don't take treatment for asthma you might end up with COPD like other chronic diseases you need to avoid triggers including smoke tobacco use dust all of these are important to try and avoid so simply put asthma is a chronic disease but they're excellent treatments available now and a lot of times they are smoke and have an acute flare-up which needs immediate treatment
