Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings 🍗🌶️🍯
These crispy and tender chicken wings are the perfect recipe for an easy appetizer or dinner! They are dry brined in the fridge and then cooked in the oven rather than deep fried to reduce the amount of oil used. The sauce is a delicious balance of sweet, spicy, and savory. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-2 lbs chicken wings
-2 tsp baking powder
-2 tsp cornstarch
-1 tsp salt
-sesame seeds for garnish
Honey Sriracha Sauce:
-4 tbs plant-based butter (or regular butter)
-4 cloves of garlic, minced
-4 tbs honey
-2 tbs sriracha
Instructions:
-pat the chicken dry with paper towels
-add the chicken to a large bowl and add salt, baking powder, and cornstarch; mix well
-place the chicken on a wired rack and baking sheet; place in the fridge for at least 4 hours up to overnight to dry brine
-preheat the oven to 425F and bake for 30 minutes or until internal temperature is 165F and juices are clear
-allow chicken to rest for 10 minutes after baking
-place a small saucepan on low heat and melt the butter; add in minced garlic and heat for 1 minute
-stir in honey and sriracha; bring to a low simmer and allow to simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens
-remove the sauce from the heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes
-generously coat both sides of the chicken with the sauce and garnish with sesame seeds
-enjoy!
