I boost the bass and treble at the rightest ratio I can (usually 1-3 more bass units than treble or 1-6 more treble units than bass, depending of the song, if it's good quality enough).
I also use Matrix Spatializer option, basically a lazy equalizer, but it "shreds" of "inflates" the sound very natural, maybe making the sound more natural than it actually is (at least that's the way I hear, with my AKG K77 Perception headphones).
I use this method since 7 years ago, most of my music files being edited for around the 4th time in last years (by time I realized that my music files need more bass, now definitely reaching the really right maximum bass level most songs should have).
