In this episode the boys try two new releases from Ravensworth Wines. Ravensworth wines, situated in the Murrumbateman and started by Bryan Martin is best known for their Shiraz Viognier blend. Bryan's years at Clonakilla crafting their flagship Shiraz Viognier blend has made the Ravensworth Shiraz Viognier and Bryans other wines quite sought after.
We taste his Northern Rhone styled white blend, The Grainery. An assemblage of Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier, fermented and vinified seperately to create a textural new world expression, much fresher than its French counterparts. Next up the Shiraz Viognier, a beautifully made wine that channels the Northern Rhone once again. Not the jammy over ripe and extracted side of Shiraz that Australia has become known for but a deeper more refined version with savoury aspects that adds an extra layer of complexity. I'd love to see both of these wines in a few years.
