I made a generator out of a car alternator about 10 years ago and still use it today. The reason people would say not to run them backwards is because of the fan. You can specially order a fan from some boat stores, because some boats have a chevy 350 v8 that runs backwards from a car engine. I didn't do that, I threw the fan away and have ran it backwards all these years with no fan. Hasn't overheated yet. [ Ссылка ]
