Rava idly is a very simple, easy and quick recipe. This is a very good breakfast or evening snack menu. You can make rava idly with minimum ingredients those are easily available in your pantry. Ingredients:
• 1 cup Coarse Rava / Sooji
• 1/2 cup Curd / Yogurt
• Salt to taste
• 3/4 cup Water
• 1/2 tsp Eno fruit salt
• 1 tsp Water
Method:
• Take rava into a bowl.
• Do not roast the rava. If you want just heat rava up on medium
heat for about 3-4 minutes. You can also microwave the rava for
about 2-3 minutes.
• Add curd and salt. Mix well.
• When curd is well absorbed in rava add water.
• Mix well, cover and rest it for about 15-20 minutes.
• After resting mix it once more.
• Add eno fruit salt and a little water to activate eno. Mix well.
• Take idly trays and grease these well with oil.
• Add idly batter in each mould and place them crisscross.
• So that the in between gap will let the lower idly puff up and it
won’t stick to upper mould.
• Heat up water in steamer.
• Put the idly stand in steamer and steam the idlies on medium
heat for about 15-20 minutes.
• Take the idlies out of the steamer and let them cool down for
about 5 minutes.
• Take idlies out with the help of knife or spoon.
• Rava idly is already.
• You can make about 10 idlies from 1 cup rava.
