This album features one of the greatest maestros of our times, Rashid Khan. In his matchless Rampur Sahaswan style, he renders six ragas in this album, namely, Lalit, Puriya, Kedar, Bhairavi, Hamsadhwani and Yaman. This gharana of Hindustani classical music has its root in the north Uttar Pradesh towns of Rampur and Sahaswan. This collection is noted for the intricacy of taans. Khan’s medium-slow tempos and full-throated voice embellish the tunes.
