Nokia is known for putting high quality cameras inside their phones. We put the E7's picture and video quality to test.
The E7 has the ability to captures 720p video at 25 frames per second. The image quality is on par if not better than some full digital cameras. The colors are sharp and accurate. There is a little bit of video stabilization issues when your walking. There was just one issue of stutter and that's when I was taking video of the red line train going by and when it came you can see the video stutter some as it goes by. The audio quality is also the best I've heard on a smartphone video recorder to date. It sounded clear and not the usual muffed sound that you get from a lot of other smartphone video cameras.
In picture mode you get a 8.0 megapixel camera with LED flash. Images are sharp with very good color accuracy for a cell phone and rival what you see from standard digital camera
The options you get with the camera are near identical that you would get with a full digital camera. From being able to choose color tone and filters to exposure you get every option possible to tweak out your video to exactly what you want. What great is that these options are both available in the video and picture modes. The only other device that I've seen have identical settings and options for both video and pictures is the Motorola XOOM.
To sum it up the Nokia E7's camera is the best in its class by far. There isn't any camera in a mobile device out there that comes close to the video and picture quality that this device has. Right now the only close competitor could be the Xperia series of smartphones from Sony. They may be the only one that came give the Nokia E7 camera some competition. Besides that any other smartphone camera in the market is inferior.
