Meghan Markle came into the royal family and promised to “hit the ground running.” But instead of bringing attention to British causes, she seemed to enjoy complaining, lecturing and using Prince Harry’s bank account on fashion, travel and one ostentatious baby shower.
During her brief time as a royal, it became clear that Meghan didn’t understand the difference between celebrity and royalty.
Instead of treating the royal family like unique opportunity to serve as a member of one of the oldest and most powerful dynasties in world history, Meghan seemingly saw it as an opportunity to finally achieve her Hollywood dream of being an A-list celebrity, with a variety of accolades from crowds of adoring Englishmen and Americans.
But that isn’t what happened.
Royalty isn’t like Hollywood, where a good hustle can get you ahead and criticism over lifestyle choices and spending is met with eyeballs instead of outrage.
Meghan just didn’t seem to get it, or perhaps, she just didn’t want to.
